Varsity Lakes was a blaze of colourful lights and musical virtuosity as all the Maske Music groups performed on a big outdoor stage at Central Park- Varsity Lakes on the Gold Coast. Guitar maestro Wes Taylor and his amazing musicians (Steve Francis, drums and Andrew Johnson, bass) opened the concert with a virtuoso performance of Classical Gas and Concerto De Aranjuez. Dressed in a hot yellow dress Suzie G then joined the boys with an electric mix of classical pop tracks featuring her and Wes's new mash up of "War of the Worlds".

Pop Opera sensations, Ultimo then took to the stage where they sang six beautiful songs, Nella, Mama, You'll Never Walk Alone, New York New York, Music of the Night and ending with You Raise Me Up that took the audience's breath away. The final showstopper of the evening, electric string trio Maske and the full band belted out their favourite hits and took their show to a new level. The sky then exploded with fireworks and Ultimo returned to sing in the final show piece Explosive.

Thanks goes to all the Maske Music performers and their families, the fabulous people from Delfin and Lend Lease who put on the concert and to the amazing Mary-Anne Sterling and Nick Leden from MAS Entertainment who made it all happen! You're the best!
